Pantone’s 2019 Color of the Year: Living Coral

Pantone calls their 2019 Color of the Year, Living Coral, “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.” Living Coral is a pink-orange color that gets its name from the marine invertebrates at the bottom of the ocean. It is generally thought of as fresh, comforting, warm, and feminine. Just because it’s generally a feminine color doesn’t mean it can’t also be masculine. For a more masculine feel, accent coral with a navy blue or black.

At Motivational Systems, we have already begun to see coral being incorporated into sign design and interior design. Pardee Homes’ recently used a light coral for their Vista Del Mar project in Pacific Highlands Ranch.

We also saw a more vibrant orange-coral used in City Venture’s Solstice 70 project in El Monte, CA.

However you choose to use Living Coral in your designs, signs, or branding; it is sure to turn heads and make your project stand out! Check out some of our favorite Living Coral color combinations and tell us in the comments if you plan on incorporating Pantone’s 2019 Color of the Year in your design plans for 2019.
