Design/Build

Environmental Graphic Design embraces many design disciplines including graphic, architectural, interior, landscape, and industrial design, all concerned with the visual aspects of wayfinding, communicating identity and information, and shaping the idea of place. Our graphic design department works with our fabrication team offering convenience, cost savings and communication advantages of a functionally integrated operation. Our fabricators work closely with our design team daily, giving us the expertise to fluidly translate the designer’s vision into attractive and effective products for the environment.

Experienced & Creative

MSI’s Graphic Design team consists of individuals whose skills, education and specialties blend to create an incredibly talented Environmental Graphic Design team. Our collective design team holds degrees in Graphic Design, Graphic Communications, Industrial Design and Computer Graphics that gives them a skilled background in design theory, art history and humanities, helping our designers to be critical thinkers and problem solvers. They have diverse backgrounds and their creative interests outside of graphics bring a unique view to the creative process. Our team has backgrounds and interests in photography, screen printing, crafts, painting, and illustration, among others. This diversity enhances and supplements our overall creative efforts giving us a very well-rounded approach to projects such as architectural, interpretive, identity, and wayfinding sign systems that span residential, multi-family and commercial industrial buildings.

The relationship between our designers and our fabrication facility, craftsman and other experts help our Environmental Graphic Designers keep up with fabrication methods, material usage, what works, and what doesn't. Our designers are experts in implementing designs to function well, adapt to various scenarios, aid challenges, and meet budgets. We collaborate with other firms and content developers to communicate the projects’ intentions.
